Other Examples of Designs
In addition to the items in my ID portfolio, here are some examples of artifacts I have created that give some insight into the way I design learning experiences.
Diversity and Inclusion in Course Design

This is a course that I collaborated on with two others using Articulate Rise. We chose the topic of diversity and inclusion as we noticed a dearth of information and resources for instructional designers, especially representation in images. Originally this course was housed in Canvas to take advantage of SCORM capabilities but is currently on a website for easy access in our portfolios.
Working with Vendors Checklist

After receiving several requests from faculty on how to find accessible publisher materials, I created a checklist to help them select better and more accessible course materials. This checklist is concise, so it is better for faculty who are already familiar with accessibility or have gone through some accessibility training.
Zoom Tutorial for Students

This is a short Zoom tutorial using Articulate Storyline. I used Camtasia to create the videos. Initially, I had one 8-minute video and then decided I wanted to cut the video into chunks based on each tool mentioned in the video. I then added a variety of short quizzes after each video. I took advantage of Storyline's interactivity by using drag and drop, click to reveal, and multiple-choice quizzes.
Scenario-based Learning

This mini-experience involves learning about the hero's journey in the daily life of a middle school girl. You can choose different paths with different results. There are animations and sounds to make the story come to life. And all of it is in PowerPoint! This is one of my favorite artifacts, showing meaningful learning experiences can be done using simple tools.
H5P Interactivity

This H5P activity was created for a summer professional development course on HIPS (high-impact practices) for faculty, hosted in Brightspace. This H5P collects brainstorming data onto one document for faculty to use to help plan their HIP course. This is one of the more difficult H5Ps to set up because it requires a template DOCX file in a particular folder in order to function properly. Thus, the version I have here doesn't produce a DOCX document, but is still viewable.
Online Learning Environment

In Spring 2021, I designed a 6-week virtual exchange program for a Department of State grant that was accepted and implemented in Spring 2022. I designed the curriculum, weekly lessons, the instructor's guide, and the virtual classroom space in Gather. The program brought together students from Japanese and American universities in synchronous and asynchronous activities via Gather, FlipGrid, and Google collaborative apps. The program culminated with two students, one from the US and one from Japan, presenting poster presentations they made together.
